IT FALLS APART (photomorph) & EVERY LAST BODY (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila
EVERY LAST BODY
the student body's* in bare skin display
on this hot spring day, every last body
in the huge, lively bunch it seems ... No,
no, don't go there, Patricia, don't go there!
Aw! Scheisse!** You just had to go there,
didn't you? And now, Miss Smarty Pants,
how are you going to get out of this
quagmire of self-denigration, this end-
less self-put down of your own all too lived
in old body ... there's not even anyone
around to extend a hand to you as you flail,
caught in this bog of self-judgment as surely
as in quick sand, no alternative thoughts
floating like planks to grab on to, no firm
ground in sight to wriggle carefully towards
... well, hey, maybe you can just understand
this trap you've gotten yourself into (again!)
as a mud bath, it has been said
they're good for the skin
[non-dream free verse poem written 5-19-17. * Inspired by the University of Santa Barbara students I wander among almost daily on my long walks through Isla Vista. ** "Scheisse" -- pronounced "shisa," with a long "i," it's German for "S--t!" Photomorph "It Falls Apart" (5-2-10 10002v8b) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
