MIDNIGHT RAIN (photo) & A BAD RAIN FALLING (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
A BAD RAIN FALLING
the first evidence she offers of his guilt?
that her tears actually hurt
I find this odd as don't all tears sting
when there's been an injury,
even if not a crime?
then she picks up bits of fuchsia glitter
that have fallen from his pockets,
declaring he could not have this metal
dust had he not been there, at that collage
class where this shiny stuff rained
down from the victim's arthritic fingers
here, too, I find her reasoning off,
like sour milk, or a sharp note
where a flat should be
but her gathering of proof goes on,
each bit another drop
in a very bad rain indeed
each further entrenching her belief
in his guilt, incapable as she is of seeing
that this mud slide of evidence
is of her own making
since it buries her as well

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
