DARK GARDEN (photomorph) & "the vending machine..." (non-dream tanka) by Roswila
the vending machine
drones along in the dark hall
with my aching joints
may this just be the overture
to a starbright symphony
[non-dream tanka written 8-6-18. Another "meh" poem in a recent string of "mehs." Ah well, this too shall (probably) pass. Note that parenthetical "probably," though. The older I get (and boy howdee, am I getting old) the more I realize things passing takes time. And, well, time is in shorter and shorter supply. Of course, time can always be very limited, at any age (my mother died when she was 34, a young boy I raised as my son was killed just before he turned 15, and so on). However, chances are still greater that we have more time ahead of us when young and less and less as we age. I'm closing in on 75. And maybe my difficulty with embracing getting so much older is effecting my writing (and photo work). I'd never have thought I'd age so ungracefully. Well, secretly ungracefully. I don't talk about it. Accept to the walls of my rooms. Maybe this is another case of "this, too, shall pass." And then I can get down to just being with whatever lands on my plate. Or falls off it. There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
