ALL DAILY DREAMKU POSTED IN SEPTEMBER 2007
I just did the Tarot Dream Card Collage above Friday as part of an online Tarot workshop led by Lauren Schneider (in the International Association of the Study of Dreams/Psiber Dreaming & The Arts Conference). In one of the exercises she suggests we design our own Tarot card referencing a dream. Mine above is about the last dreamku in the dream series listed below for September 25th, which also has some explanation. (By the way, I presented my dreamku workshop at the conference on Sunday, September 30th. More on that in the future.)
Okay, this month seems to have a lot of religious/spiritual symbols, including my power animals – horse and tiger. Yes, I’d say matters of the spirit have been more apparent than usual. And I wrote my first dream tanka – see September 13th. The Pope is in it. Ain’t that a hoot for this old agnostic solitary Pagan? Of course, my Tarotologist’s mind goes right to the fact that The Hierophant/High Priest in The Tarot is also often called The Pope. But I’d say the Catholic Pope was also intended by that dream, as he was celebrating the Mass. Lastly with respect to this issue: I was raised Catholic. So it’s a many layered image, as the vast majority of all dream images tend to be.

IN MEMORY*
a path of rubble
the familiar man
teaches us a hymn
*I shared this dreamku last year on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Tiwn Towers here in New York City. I post it here this year also in memory and in the hope that those far more deeply affected by this tragedy than I (who was fortunate not to lose anyone, just my job) are finding healing.

her star-shaped keys his mishandling
[one-liner; where possible it's effective and fun to make a sort of pivot between the two sections, making it read two different ways. E.g, in this one it can be read: her star-shaped keys//his mishandling, or her star-shaped//keys his mishandling. I've certainly not fully developed this little twist in one-liners, but it seems to be emerging slowly. :-)]
September 19, 2007

THE THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM
he asks for a hug
but keeps it short and distant
my frustration
he's irritated
I can't take notes faster
"Now I've lost the words!"
I find the Irish beach
tape he wants me to view
Anahata* Castle
* This is what the castle in the distance on a beach was called in the dream. Until I googled it on waking I did not recall it's the name for the Heart Chakra. I learned for the first time today though that in Sanskrit "anahata" is said to mean "sound made without two things striking."

CHOICES
I did the same work
before she was even born

the male worker
clearly cannot stand me
all too familiar
the files are a mess

she expects me
to be at her beck and call
do I want this job

*This is an appropriate end for this month’s dreamku. It’s a psi dream [predicted a future event] and I’m currently participating in the PsiberDreaming Conference 2007.
‘til next time, keep dreaming,
