PATHS THROUGH THE DAY (photomorph) & RAGGED (non-dream tanka) by Roswila

RAGGED

BAM! not a gunshot?!
and just like that, the day's golden peace
gets blown to tatters
she gathers the shreds of the morning
around her again, a ragged comfort

[non-dream tanka written 8-5-18. Another one like yesterday's: no great shakes. But it's something to post and was quite a startling experience. What I don't go into in the tanka is that the "shot" was right behind me as I was sitting under my favorite willow tree and deep into thought. And I wasn't able to discern what it had been. Car backfire? Fireworks? Or even an actual gun shot. BTW, I'm not sure why I felt pulled to cast the tanka in a "her" voice. Just felt right. Hm, and this may actually be true, maybe I wanted to distance myself from that frightening experience. Photomorph "Paths Through The Day" (3-2-15 005v15h) by Roswila]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
