DREAM HAIKU SERIES II (With Tarot Images)

we share our stories
as we wait to check out
the lines are long

she says she was
sort of abused by him
still not owning up

there is no one
to accept our money
we can't buy freedom

the aging actress
will read my cards as we wait
she's a quick study

there is a way out:
the tulip Ace of Cups
and rooted wand

This series is based on a dream I had on August 4, 2006. The Devil card was not actually in the dream, but certainly implied. The Ace of Cups, The Queen of Wands and The Eight of Wands were all images in the end of the dream, both "verbally" and "visually." All the above card images are from the Rider/Waite/Smith deck.

Resource: Reiki-Seichem/Tarot, some basic meanings of all the cards illustrated with the Rider/Waite/Smith deck.

‘til next time, keep dreaming,

Roswila

A POEM ABOUT NOTHING

[The Five of Pentacles in the Rider/ Waite/ Smith Tarot deck]

A POEM ABOUT NOTHING

The chasm of darkness
yawns a bit darker, a bit wider,
beneath each dawn.

She turns her back on them, wed as they are,
shadow and its caster.

The sun attempts to warm her shoulders
as darkness eats into the underside of her life,
causing cave-ins, here and there,
sink holes in an arid life.

Each morning as she turns away
from this darkness that seeks to know her,
she wonders why:
the soft clamor of nothingness
will overcome her soon enough.

Why not walk willfully, head high,
into the emptiness and let it know
what is left of her, entire.

At the very least she will have had this:
that at the last she faced her fate,
she did not run away.

To New York City Poets (Another Passing)

[The Two of Cups from The Rider/ Waite/ Smith Tarot deck, often representing friendship]

We've had another loss to our community. I was just informed that Neal Grossman passed away. I had not seen him in many years, but remember him very fondly. Neal had a wonderful talent with song lyrics. He and I connected beyond our love of writing in our mutual interests in things like the I-Ching. Many years back, when I was still doing Tarot readings for other people, he came to my house for a reading. It was a delightful experience. I hope his loved ones will take solace in the fond memories so many hold of him. Neal will be missed.
