ALL DAILY DREAMKU POSTED IN SEPTEMBER 2008
The first thing I noticed on reading through the dreamku below was the colors, especially green. I don’t often dream in color so this is note worthy. My guess? Mostly to do with joy, passion and growth.
The below pair of dream tanka from one dream of September 3rd had me belly laughing as I woke up:
WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS
a cat crawls quickly
into my white underpants
holding on tightly
I waddle calling to friends
for help with extricating it
my friends follow me
to sliding doors where I tell
the men to stay put
inside a woman begins
to scoop the cat out
Hope you enjoy this month’s dreamku. Many of the tanka, I must confess, are a few weeks old as I’ve not been recalling my dreams as readily as usual.

incredibly long
golden green titles waver
I stumble over
blurred numbers and gaelic words
she appears to know them all

through my grandma’s house
a lush parade of
Amer-Indian tribes

I stash a dust filled
green towel in the freezer
he opens its door
brushing past his warm shoulder
I snatch the towel away

I seek my new beau
two strange women disapprove
of my green jacket

the photo appears
a dozen times on the page
each one needs a verse,
written first: Give the Lender
the Power to Receive

I balance and roll
on the red exercise ball
visitors watch amused
or are they impressed I’m such
a flexible old lady

crazed and crumbling
the small cactus in
its little rock nook
September 9, 2008
I visit my friend
in our former apartment
she doesn’t miss me
the only difference now
no piles of dishes to do

September 10, 2008
a tall man in drag,
another young man, and I
share a dressing room
the tall man doesn’t like me
and hits me with the show’s script

September 11, 2008
the large dark workhorse
puts his muzzle on my mouth
looking into my eyes
I’m not certain what this means
but figure he must like me
more intense nuzzling
I mount and take delight in
his strong smooth gallop

This was posted with the image at the top of this post of a Clydesdale stallion, much like the one in my dream; though mine had no white and wasn't all "gussied up." :-)

a wall of paintings
draws me back to muse on two
shining Goddesses:
Demeter the Earth Mother,
Harodata* the Sacred Whore

*my dream world tossed up this name (it was accented on the second syllable in my dreaming mind); I googled it and found one occurrence in an untranslated sanskrit text. Hm!

screens old Frank Sinatra flicks
kids have never seen
his early career, that fills

crashing deliberately
into wall after wall
yelling from his loneliness
I can't do this anymore

runs around the large theatre
surprised laughter spreads

I hurry the last few steps
I am shocked to note
home's not there and I can't recall
the past twenty minutes.

through a phase shift
I see myself leave and return
lookin’ good!*
*This is an especially interesting dream given I've lost a lot of weight and am still losing. Our mental images tend to lag months behind the reality. This dream seems to, at least in part, show a re-adjustment of my mental image of myself. :-D

Hi Patricia,
I finally got around to visiting. I stayed busy at the IASD Psiber Conference for a couple of weeks and I still haven't read all the papers. I have another few days.
I laughed out loud at this line from September 11, 2008 "...but figure he must like me." I hadn't scrolled down to the adjoining Dreamku yet and thought that was the end. I found myself thinking ... oh you do ... and I had a hilarious image in my mind. The next three lines made me think ..."Ah-ha ... Yes, and I figure you must like him too." And an image quite different formed. What a great dream.
I especially like this one. Sounds like it could be associated with your new found friendship that is not exactly familiar ground and coming now ... in your so-called twilight years.

This one made me smile with you and say ... right on girl.

This one reminds me of the dance that I do everyday, hoping that the 'gentle lady' will learn how to lead.

Charline
It's so wonderful to hear from you, Charline, and with such a chock-full comment. :-)
I didn't make the PsiberDreaming Conference, unfortunately. Just did not have the time. Both John and I are still trying to figure out how to include each other in our lives, and not neglect our other friends and activities. Quite a lovely challenge! :-D
I, too am working at having the gentle lady lead my dance. But the angry woman needs to be heard and embraced, as well. She's often only trying to take care of us (me), if in a mistaken way. :-)
Yes, that horse dream was something else! I had it just a matter of days before my relationship with John went from just friends to more intimate.
Your take on that new home tanka is mine, too.
Hope all is going great for you.
bright blessings!
Hi, your writing is beautiful and surreal. I have a long dream I wrote about years ago that is three pages long. Maybe, I will try to find it and post it as your work is inspiring.
I was offline and unfortunately swept up into politics and such and decided to withdraw. The state of the world is all so sad these days.
Take care
Princess Haiku
Hi Princess Haiku,
Thanks for visiting and enjoying my dreamku. :-)
I'd love to see any of your dream-based work. Do you have a blog to which you can post the lengthier work, like the three page one you mention here? Shorter ones you are welcome to post in the comments to this blog, if you'd like.
Yes, the world does have its troubles. And so much to be grateful for at the same time.
bright blessings....
