THE GONE GATE (photomorph) & "turning to face..." (dream haiku) by Roswila

turning to face
a gate overgrown by vines
no going back

[dream haiku, dreamed/written in mid-March 2008. BTW, I’d just moved from New York City to CA on February 6, 2008. This is one of those dream haiku from my handwritten notebooks, going back decades in some instances. (Yeah, I’m still wandering through the last of the three notebooks.) For the past couple of years, my life’s been more than usually taken up with looking back. I’m faced with what I went through from childhood forward, and still can do nothing about. It’s as if those vines have me between a rock and a hard place (there’s no “do overs,” and I can’t fully move on). Photomorph “The Gone Gate” (Archival 5-25-09 1726v14d[2]) by Roswila]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant or contrasting aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
