“body snatchers” redux!
they’ve left a deeply cranky changeling
in place of my soul


[Don’t know what to call the form this is written in, or if it really fits any form. (Similarly, where does my displaced soul fit anymore?) But it might be called a haikuesque, as a dear friend of a great many years ago used to call small poems that echoed haiku. Written 5-21-19. Trailer for the old movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. I may also post this to an email list for scifaiku – a haiku-like form with a sci-fi/fantasy/horror/cosmological theme -- that I have participated in for many years.
