DOUBLE EXPOSURE (photomorph) & FAITH (non-dream senryu) by Roswila

FAITH

close community life:
we walk a labyrinth whose
center stays unreached

[non-dream, (kinda, sorta) senryu written 4-9-18. Senryu are kissing cousins of haiku, though they are usually humorous and/or about human foibles. So this is really more (maybe) an aphorism written in the senryu (and haiku) form of three lines of 5-7-5 syllables. One also would not normally title either a senryu or a haiku, but this one needs it (IMHO) to have a chance of being grasped. This amount of explanation for such a little piece probably means it's not worth much to anyone but it's mother... :-) BTW, it was written sitting in the shadows of a wonderful old tree, looking out at a sunlit, round labyrinth laid out in stones (some painted in various patterns and colors, and some not), each about the size of a small loaf of bread. PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
