RECLAIMING THE SKY (photomorph) & THE FORGOTTEN CRONE (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila
THE FORGOTTEN CRONE
(on viewing a postcard from Ireland)
A blood red door
stands askew in the wall:
a rip in the stone sky
a wound frozen open.
A broom leans against the grey wall,
tilted toward the old black latch:
a forgotten crone who waits,
and as she waits, dreams,
and as she dreams, burns
the skies clean and brings stone
to life with a glance.
[non-dream free verse poem written in August of 1986. I have a dream I will write about later today. But it's so, shall I say, graphic I can't even imagine posting it here. Suffice it to say it has to do with claiming power back from men, in explicitly sexual imagery. Why I've chosen to (re-)post this particular old poem: the postcard was from a man I had a platonic relationship with but also had quite a "crush" on. And I'm surprised at the associations I had to its picture back then. About pain and power. Not so different from last's night's dream. However, last night I took back my power and sexuality. No waiting. Smile. Photomorph "Reclaiming the Sky" (2-12-16 001v8) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
