THE ALCHEMIST (photo) & SKEWED (four dream tanka) by Roswila

SKEWED

their magazine’s debut
proves to be a surprise:
“New Takes On Tarot,”
all based on their unique
reviews of my designs

the first: Temperance,
a slice of my design brightens
their black and white text
that proclaims “so devilish
at being so good”

then their white lines pour
down, even further veiling
my hazy Moon card,
like right brain perception
raining endlessly

several more cards
appear in rapid succession
ending with The World –
all creatively skewed on top
of my already quirky designs

[four tanka on a dream of 11-29-12. It'll be interesting later when I have the time, to relate to Temperance, The Moon, and The World as a three card Tarot reading. Photo “The Alchemist” by Roswila, this is my Temperance card in a photographic Tarot deck I’ve been developing, The Found Tarot]

BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO DREAMKU (& PHOTOS): The dream-based poems posted on this blog -- dreamku, tanka, two-liners, and monoku -- are offered in the spirit of collaboration. I have done my part. Now it’s your turn to jump in and see what comes up for you. I.e., there is no right or wrong way to understand or interpret any of these dream offerings. Even my own understandings of them change over time. And it gives me joy when a reader sees something in any of them that I have not.

For more in-depth exploration:
