AUTUMN'S CAULDRON (photo) & FINDING A WAY (dreamku series) by Roswila
FINDING A WAY
when we finally
break into the children’s room
it’s dark and dreary
little light reaches the dirty
walls or the dead dry plants
and the kids themselves
clearly neglected and uncared for
I fling windows open
as I make plans to change
these deplorable conditions,
especially the lack
of books and learning material –
my friends and I scrape
debris off the walls into
rapidly filling wastebaskets
I’m surprised to find tiny green sprouts at the base
of a dark brittle vine – life finding a way
