TILT! (photo) & THE WOBBLE (dreamku series) by Roswila

THE WOBBLE
(series of dreams from one night)

he’s alive again,
this young boy I’d helped raise,
and his mother and
I are friends again but this
can only be a dream

then I get the job
I’d applied for, despite my
utter lack of skill

and my new co-worker
swallows an untested cure
determined to live --
they rush to pump her stomach
she’d taken the wrong risk

a voice wryly notes: “Seems there’s always
a wobble at the center of the universe”

[a dream tanka, dreamku, dream tanka, and capping two-liner on a series of dreams of 11-19-12. Those words in quotes at the end are verbatim and were the total content of the last dream I recall from the night’s sleep. Photo “Tilt!” by Roswila]

BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO DREAMKU (& PHOTOS): The dream-based poems posted on this blog -- dreamku, tanka, two-liners, and monoku -- are offered in the spirit of collaboration. I have done my part. Now it’s your turn to jump in and see what comes up for you. I.e., there is no right or wrong way to understand or interpret any of these dream offerings. Even my own understandings of them change over time. And it gives me joy when a reader sees something in any of them that I have not.

I love this photo and the poem. It amazes me how you pull the lines and images of the dream poem together with a closing line.

Thanks, Sajuno. Glad you stopped by. It's odd to say but I feel as if I didn't write that closing line since it was from the last dream of the night, verbatim. Isn't that silly? But I will comfortably take credit for recognizing that the line links all of the night's previous dreams together.
