AN OPEN SECRET

when the day is done
and home’s too far away or lost
many use their office --
quiet shelter, more or less brief,
from the demanding city

familiar halls and the occasional co-worker
passing through – she always stays the longest


[a tanka and two-liner on a dream of 11-20-12. Office as metaphor for life's work, in my case, writing and other creative efforts. This dream was a response (at least in part) to my request for help from my dreams as I went to sleep last night.
