INCORPORATION (photomorph) & THE AGREEMENT (free verse dream poem) by Roswila

THE AGREEMENT

the door to the space isn’t locked, but what I want
to get at is locked away in a small container
that I pick up and examine carefully from all angles;
it pops open suddenly when I hold and touch it in
a particular way, cool! for once I’m getting what
I want, which oddly enough in this instance is simply
occasional access not full-time possession; just as I
begin to relax into this new situation, a strange guy
and a long-standing female frenemy of mine approach
me, he proclaiming that the box (now a pearlescent
pink) will remain accessible to me for this weekend
only, after that my frenemy (whom he, of course,
refers to by her actual name) will want it back;
she nods agreement, but mutters something as she
takes the box from me and looks it over as if not
at all certain that this give and take is an
agreement she’s willing to forge between us

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant or contrasting aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
