THE HEART MIXES IT UP (photomorph) & THE RED CLOTH (free verse dream poem) by Roswila

THE RED CLOTH

she's draped herself
in a flowing red weaving
as intense as flame, a work
of rubicund diaphanous art
that shimmers and shimmies
with her, dancing and dipping
as if it, too, were alive,
accompanying this solo of hers
in front of the closed
stage curtains:

♪ Summertime
and the livin' is easy ... ♫
one of these mornings
you're gonna rise up singin'
and fly to the sky ♪ ...

the fiery rose of her drapery
stands out in sharp relief against
the dark stage curtains, her singing
and dancing almost more an excuse
to share this vital red, beating like a heart
released and wrapping lightly around her

[free verse poem on a dream of 6-22-18. As I've mentioned here many times in the past, I don't "see" color very often in dreams. And this red was truly awesome. I have several different associations to this dream scene. But each is filled with heart. And maybe that's the ultimate point I can take way from this dream: all of life has heart. I just had another association: "Wearing one's heart on one's sleeve." :-) In a way, that's another message in this dream. I am a bit weary of self-protectively obscuring my deepest heart in metaphor or silence. It would be lovely to just let it loose, let it fly openly, blatantly. Whether or not the stage is set for it, or even open to it at all. Lyrics to "Summertime". Photomorph "The Heart Mixes It Up" (Old Pix File 7665v2a) Roswila]

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
