THE FOREVER CHASE (photomorph) WITHOUT QUESTION (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
WITHOUT QUESTION
something vaguely good that she does
not trust anyway keeps happening:
a familiar, closed mouth man offers her
a small dark sheaf of papers, over and over,
nothing major but still a gift she's not
accepting yet not overtly rejecting; it's
almost as if she doesn't get that she's
supposed to get it (if that doesn't sound
too strange) ...
and I wake with this tremendously sore neck,
both sides, with lots of cracking and popping
when I try to loosen it up: who's a pain in
the neck? he or me? or maybe it's more a matter
of how we relate, both of us stiff necked
and tending to the cryptic, silently demanding
that the other not only understand what we offer
but accept it without question
[free verse poem on a dream of 6-20-18. Actual dream and after effect (i.e. the painful neck). Interesting thing is that as I drafted this piece just now -- with no idea what point it would ultimately make -- my stiff neck eased quite a bit. There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
