TORNADIC (photomorph) & ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES
oy! we need an exterminator,
quick, catch that crawler before
it reproduces ... what's all that
rumbling?
and why's the house shaking?
oh no, they're moving it,
piecemeal,
away from the infestation!
what a bass-ack-ward approach
not to mention just plain
extreme!
a couple of bugs and the entire
house gets lifted and now (yikes!)
carelessly
dropped elsewhere? ... yowza! watch
you don't smash that pile of stuff
underneath ...
uh, too late, it's like Dorothy's
house being dropped into Oz by that
tornado ... hm, maybe when it hit
the ground my house squashed that
wicked witch
who's been cursing me of late?
nah, why would I ever have
such luck,
I'll just be left with this deeply
broken home to repair, and a
strange new land to learn about...
hey ... dum-dum,
stop kvetching, and roll up your
sleeves, here's that new life
for which you've been yearning

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
