YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE (photomorph) & THE HOLOGRAM (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila

hey, I do realize it's not him I'm actually
relating to in some psychic way in my mind;
this is after all only an increasingly intricate
hologram of him growing in the convoluted
recesses of my brain since our first intense
meeting; an insubstantial tapestry, expanding
its weave with each strand of the light he
flashes whenever his living, breathing self
briefly enters the picture; and, yeah, I knew
I was a goner, incapable of deconstructing
this scintillating web when it started talking
to me (it'd been touching me from the start
which, of course, is when all the trouble began);
and now I find I'm lost like the Little Mermaid
if she'd refused to give up her fluted tail for
that landlubber of a prince, choosing instead
to stay here in these proliferating rays
of moonlight as they cross each other
in an oceanic weave, aswim in this lonely
labyrinth of light, this holographic lover

[non-dream free verse poem written 3-27-17. *Hologram: "a three-dimensional image formed by the interference of light beams from a laser or other coherent light source." On another topic altogether, HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO! Here in South Central CA (as over all of CA) we celebrate Mexican culture on this day. Folk from Mexico and their children born here, contribute greatly to everyone's lives. And (to wax a wee bit poliitcal) they do not deserve to be fearful of deportation. PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
