NOTHING AT ALL

an old country western song sadly proclaims
"I don't want to be a memory..."*

maybe it's even sadder that I would love
to be a memory to you: even just a single
night to explore your body with my own
as I express wordlessly how I feel

better to be a memory to you
than this nothing at all

I say "not totally unrelated topic" because the ancient roots of May Day are in a mating/fertility celebration, and the May Pole in that context is rather phallic.
