GOING IN CIRCLES (photomorph) & SKY HIGH (free verse dream poem) by Roswila

SKY HIGH

he's crashed again!
well, more the fool he
for continuing his career
as a race car driver after
his first awful smash up

and that he's a top winner
in his class of drivers
is no excuse to keep
tempting fate, he could
wind up dead

he paces at a distance around
and around the wreck where
it landed after rolling end
over end, he seat-belted inside

he mumbles to himself,
shaking his still dizzy head,
that it's going to blow up
any second, but allows
his orbit to deteriorate,
bringing him closer
and closer to the hot
mess that had been
his vehicle of success

his urge to move in ever
closer to it over-riding
his common sense:
there's something in it
he really needs to see
or must retrieve

maybe he'll luck out one more
time and escape the wreck of yet
another of his efforts before
its blows sky high

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
