FIRE FALL (photomorph) & ONE HOT MESS (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
ONE HOT MESS
hey, I didn't choose to wear this, all I did
when that hot wind hit me like a proverbial
ton of bricks, was to stumble backwards
and fall into this skirt's sensuous ambush
now I can't get it off, its voluminous
fire engine red velvet clings,
its waistband with no stretch, no zipper,
no buttons, no way at all to pull it off,
while what brains I have left go
into meltdown, my breasts peak
on high alert, and everything below
my waist heats, melting my knees
and curling my toes, I can't even heft
this flaring for a cooling breeze
will I be stuck forever beneath the torrid
fallout of this one stumble

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
