GHOST OF A CHANCE (photomorph) & ALMOST (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
ALMOST
maybe not as dramatic
but certainly the same at some
momentary level of frustration,
each memory of the night's dreams
rises like a sneeze that promises
but ultimately just isn't there
memory's emptiness closing over
the last teasing of recovery
like a pond surface
after a tossed pebble
an inquiry rippling outward:
was there ever anything there
to begin with
maybe almost's
all there ever is ...
at all
[free verse poem taking off from the lack of dream recall for the night of 12-2-15. Photomorph "Ghost of a Chance" (1-29-14 005v11) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
