THE HEART OF YEARNING (photo) & HEART-TO-HEART (mixed format dream poem) by Roswila

HEART-TO-HEART

OK, this is getting
to be bloody boring ... kvetching
all during the day
how everybody lets her down
and now all night long, too

dream after dream in which someone's done her wrong,
or been thoughtless or self-absorbed (not much better)

yeah, it hurts, accenting as it does her essential fear
that it's all her fault at core, that she's just not lovable

but what the blazes, life ain't no bed of roses
for anyone, and hers, well, no worse than many

and it's certainly
better than too many of
her fellow humans
struggling right now on this
beleaguered, crowded planet

so get real, honey,
take a huge dose of gratitude
for making it this far,
and for the privilege to keep yearning
to meet with others heart-to-heart

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

* * * *
until next time, keep dreaming,
