BODY OF DARKNESS

his job's to entice
souls into empty bodies
nomads of the night

she's just given up
her own day body
a fruitless endeavor

she agrees to enter
a body of darkness,
servant to the night


[dreamku series written 9-15-09, revised 6-12-13. This was initially posted here as a scifaiku series when written in September of 2009. Scifaiku are haiku-like poems with a sci-fi, fantasy, horror, or cosmological theme. And my life’s been feeling rather sci-faiku-ish recently…and not in a fun way. I’ve also been pondering (even more than my usual wont) what the actual relationship (if any 😊) is between our spirits and our bodies. Are they truly separate, like a vessel and its contents? Or are they at a profound level, one thing? Here I was clearly dreaming/perusing about them as separate. There are a couple of other distinct levels to this series, that I’ve thought about over the years, but I’ll leave it at what I address here. Photomorph “The Future Is Now” (6-13-13 d&p) by Roswila]
