WHAT'S GIRL TO DO? (photomorph) & STORY TIME (mixed format dream poem) by Roswila
STORY TIME
we keep coming back
to the unfinished under-story,
after all, he intones,
this mythology that’s playing out
is the truest story of them all
I wish that woman
who keeps insinuating herself
into all levels
of my life, obvious or hidden, were
also a myth, in that sense of “not real”
but she matches this mythology, this spine of my life,
not only with her subtle influence but her tenacity
and not for the first
time I wonder what myth she’s playing out
that is hers alone,
even as she extrudes this endless parable,
this haunting made manifest, into my own
[two tanka, a 2-liner, and a capping tanka, on a dream of 1-22-19. Photomorph “What’s A Girl To Do?” (Jan. 2013 folder, or earlier) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
