SHARING THE WEALTH (photo) & THE WOMAN WHO WAS DYING (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
THE WOMAN WHO WAS DYING
the woman who was dying the other night,
brings me gift after gift tonight; the most
welcome one she seems totally unaware
of: she's not only still alive but not dying
(at least not any time soon, it seems)
... I can't recall what the gifts were,
though I can still feel their imprints
in the back of my waking mind
gathering interest again like water
seeping into footprints at sea's edge,
but they do all appear to echo my artistic
interests and offer glimpses of new
ways to place and organize things,
and I recall exploring each gift in turn
as she handed it to me, then momentarily
setting it aside, overwhelmed
and grateful ...
:-) dreamer! can you say
"substitute mother"?

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
