WARRIOR MOON (photomorph) & NEAT AND NICE, OR NO (narrative on two dreams) by Roswila

NEAT AND NICE, OR NO

Incubation:*

a desperately intense yet very unspecific call
to her dreams for help during this physically
and emotionally pain-filled time, as she turns
over on to her left side to fall asleep

Dream One:

sheets of white paper with bolded text hang messily
in the air before her, pages she feels compelled to
organize, right now! leases and other legal documents
relating to the successful search for her new house
hovering over to the left a short walk away;
she'd hoped never to have to go again on a real
estate hunt like the one she's just completed, and
even more so, not ever to deal again with the
condescension of her omnipresent boss floating
as always in the air off to her right

Dream Two:

she's trying to find out where to hang her coat in a
large office she's just started working in; there's no
arrangement made for this and she searches until she
finds an out of the way space in a dark wood paneled
corner perfect for a rack that would accommodate
many coats; when she tells her new boss about this
she's instantly and rudely dismissed; clearly its nothing
of import to the powers that be, or maybe it's just her
temerity as a brand spanking new employee in
raising this issue that's the problem, leaving her
to wonder how she'll cope with the inevitability
of a rumpled coat

Waking Conclusion:

two odd responses that she quickly judges uninteresting,
bland, lacking the impact that any sort of answer to a call
for help should have ... then, smack dab in the middle
of her dark mood, a light bulb goes off: are these dreams
saying she's looking in the wrong direction, focusing
on the small potatoes of neatness, and her yearning
to be treated nicely, rather than the much bigger,
encompassing -- even precipitating -- situations?
should she instead be taking up full residence in the new
home of her constantly changing life as she applies
herself to the work that this requires,
neat and nice, or no?

[narrative on a dream of 8-13-18. *"Dream incubation is a practiced technique of learning to 'plant a seed' in the mind, in order for a specific dream topic to occur, either for recreation or to attempt to solve a problem" (from Wikipedia). I've practiced dream incubation, on and off, for decades. It's much like going to one of my Tarot decks for assistance or clarification. BTW, this is the dream narrative I mentioned in the comments to my post of 8-19-18. And I have very mixed feelings about posting it. It seems to be a lot of talk about very little, at least on today's reading. But, then again, the full moon is just in today (Sturgeon Moon) and it's making me crazier than usual, so I'm not going to pay attention to that negative reaction to this dream narrative. And let the chips (moonbeams?) fall where they may. Photomorph "Warrior Moon" (7-28-09 4458v7b) by Roswila]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
