UNMAKING THE MOUNTAINS (photomorph) & IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila

myth would have it that an ancient deity
uncreated, nay, call a spade a spade, destroyed
the universe that existed before this one,
with the blink of an eye;
how much more frangible then the cosmos
of the present moment -- this now -- as it
scintillates in human sight,
only to be unmade
on each blink

[non-dream free verse poem written 8-23-18. This is the sort of poem I sometimes write that I'm a bit uncomfortable with. Too much teaching going on. And not enough setting up of an experience for the reader to make her/his own decision(s) about, by bringing her/his own life to it. Ah well, it's all I have even near being ready for posting today and I do have to admit to a wee bit of pride in the metaphor I'm trying to get across. PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
