ON THE WAY (photomorph) & NAKED ( mixed format dream poem) by Roswila

NAKED

over time she's become
quite skilled at belly dancing,
doing down and up
belly rolls exactly as they've been done
down the ages, with both art and control

her chosen costume,
though, makes a modern contrast to
the traditional:
a tight fitting, long flesh colored dress,
a-glitter with a myriad of ecru sequins

her first solo show
comes to its ending movements,
a traditional shimmy
with belly rolls and open legs,
all while bending over backwards

as she sets up for
this expected traditional ending,
angling her feet and
preparing her breathing for the effort,
a man calls out: It's usually done naked!

this she's not willing
to do, and fervently hopes that she'll
perform this pattern
in such a stirring way that naked
would've only been a distraction

she bends backwards signaling she's about to start,
hoping her naked eagerness to please is enough
