ALL FALLS AWAY (photo) & THE CURE (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
THE CURE
the story of the young talented dancer's death
is way too sad to repeat, just watching her
ghostly form dance gracefully off into a
downtown city sunset's hard enough, if a visual
delight; she's off to meet her lover, who died
only days before her, his death mourned as a loss
to the world of young athletes with Olympic
potential; at least they'll be fully together at last,
and wearing their talents and youth like
rainbow colored new clothes; clothes that now
will never tatter and fade and ultimately fall
away from them, death being the only cure
for aging's inevitable losses
[free verse poem on a dream of 2-4-18. This is actually a rather positive dream/poem. My initial response on recalling it was confusion and concern. Then I realized it was trying to help me own, and then move beyond the mourning I've been in for aspects of my youth. A mourning I've been in partial denial about. (Partial denial, you say? Yeah, minimizing it's extent and depth.) Photo "All Falls Away" (12-30-17 002v2) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
