HOLDING ON (photo) & ALL FALL DOWN (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila

ALL FALL DOWN*

hold on to me before it's too late
my grip alone on you is not enough
to link us through this dizzying
long fall we call life

I do not want to lose you to the wind
of this agonizing descent, to watch
you spin off into the dark that presses
in from all sides as we all fall
slowly down

that final grounding awaiting us all
will come soon enough,
I do not want to lose you
before I must lose you

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,

Lovely; truly lovely. And a nice take on the nursery rhyme to make a deeper point.

What a delightful surprise, both your visit and your comment, Loyd. Synchronistically, I'd not only re-posted a bunch of really old scifaiku for Halloween, but even more recently stumbled across some humorous ones I may re-post soon. I'm in a major life-review, some of it even fun! Like with the scifaiku ... thanks for visiting. How's everything in your neck of the woods?
