PRAYER TO THE HAZE

keep diffusing the light
that burns through to the core
and focus it some other day,
softening the world's sharp
edges 'til it's like a grey cat
whose golden eyes have closed
in repose, then allow this dream
of ease and beauty to enclose
like the whispery touch
of an old silk shirt


[non-dream free verse poem written 5-4-16. I actually have two dream poems from last night's dreams hanging fire. (Hope that indicates a turn around in my recent decreasing dream recall. I kept suggesting as I fell asleep that I would remember my dreams.) However, I'd already written this little poem and wanted to share it.
