WARRIOR WOMAN (photo) & VEHICLE (prose dream poem) by Roswila

VEHICLE

maybe it's his resemblance to Captain Jean Luc Picard*
of the Star Ship Enterprise that draws me to him
but more likely it's his artistic nature

as I watch this multi-talented, middle aged man rush about
putting up his newest art installation, I wonder which
of his many talents this show employs, even as I begin
to sense its content is entirely about how to advertise

at first I judge this an inappropriate application for art,
but then relent, as someone with a "multi-media mind"†
such as his must feel great inner pressure to ferry
his worlds to as many folk as possible, and art's a most
capacious, far reaching vehicle:

whichever talent he chooses to use at any given time
like a Trojan Horse, and his strange, often unwelcome
and always vaguely disturbing messages,
like the warriors hidden inside

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
