THE WEIGHT OF IT ALL (photomorph) & FOR NOW (mixed format dream poem) by Roswila

FOR NOW

there must be a note
pinned to my back declaring
"I'm responsible!"
how else to explain everyone's
assumption I'm handling it all:

from the complicated plane reservations
for Easter Island on the other side of the world

(and mind you, I can't even afford to attend
that part of the upcoming Adult Ed class),

to managing the food in the fridge
(with it's massively disorganized freezer),

to being expected (I'm sure) to thoroughly clean
the common areas of this place we're staying in,

and all without guidelines ... the only leavening moment?

my sweet tabby cat's
not only back from the vet's
but happy to see me,
asking nothing of me (for now)
but to pet her silky fur
