SWITCHBACK (photo) & A MURDER OF CROWS (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila
A MURDER OF CROWS
agitated crows caw
erupting from hidden perches
to crisscross the empty
late afternoon sky
in looping threads
resettling one by one
into silhouetted palms
they continue their cawing
as if to finish stitching up
the gaping sky with complaints
of unending hunger
[non-dream free verse poem written 11-10-14. Re: Yesterday's "looking a lion in the mouth"? Once I'd drafted the poem above I realized this existential emptiness was what that lion image was portending I'd be facing directly. Photo "Switchback" (4-29-12 11848e) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
