LION IN WAITING (photo) & "when looking ..." (non-dream tiny poem) by Roswila

when looking
a lion in the mouth,
hold still
and listen
very closely

[A tiny poem (or maybe better called an aphorism) that I wrote sometime prior to June 2006, based on The Strength card of the Tarot:
Neither the aphorism nor the card relate in any way that I can recall to my dreams last night. Yet when I stumbled upon both this morning while working on one of my Tarot blogs I just knew they were somehow connected to the night's dreams. Not sure why. Just a strong gut response. Hope they're not predictive of an intense interpersonal encounter, which is what's occurring to me as I type. Ah well, I will hold the image of this Strength card in my mind, ready for retrieval, as I go about my day. Of course, I can also see the poem and card as referencing my inner life. In either case, I stand prepared. Photo "Lion In Waiting" (4-4-13 12427e) by Roswila]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

* * * *
until next time, keep dreaming,
