DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS (photomorph) & EXOTIC DANCING (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
EXOTIC DANCING
all these women strippers … oh, excuse me,
“exotic dancers,” and that euphemism really
does apply here as they’re all very good,
performing their acts one at a time, each
solo in the spot light more original and
colorful than the previous one; and they're
very brave, at least to my mind, to get so
close to exposing their most private parts
without actually doing it; they dance away
at such a distance from the watchers, that
the lone stage light creates the effect of
a long narrow tunnel, ending in each
stripper’s all but nakedness: exacerbating
the huge distance between true intimacy and,
even though it be artful, over exposure
[free verse poem on a dream of 9-20-19. Hm, I watched an intense old movie about nuns and much more than that (“Agnes of God”) last night, just before sleep. Of course, it sometime takes two or three nights for the influence of an intense day time experience to show in some way in a dream. And this dream most certainly has to do with some recent stuff in my life going back a couple of days. However, I still find it an intriguing contrast to that movie and will do more thinking on it. Especially given that my godmother was (is?) a nun. Photomorph “Dance of the Seven Veils” (5-25-09 1726 13g[2]) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
