SURPRISED BY THE LIGHT (photomorph) & OLD TRICKS (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila
OLD TRICKS
I'm just a lonely old bag of useless tricks,
dragging around like someone else's
forgotten shadow
at least Felix the Cat has magic in his valise,
I'm just a lonely old bag of useless tricks
yearning to be picked up and spilled across
the evening sky like a shocking field
of new stars
but I'm just a lonely old bag of useless tricks,
a wish for emptiness the only one I ever make
on the first star I spot in a dark and distant sky
yeah, I'm just a lonely old bag
of useless tricks,
yearning ... and wishing ...
and waiting, always
waiting

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
