SNAKING THROUGH THE NIGHT (photomorph) & I'M SO SORRY (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila

I'm so sorry. I honestly didn't see that WET
PAINT sign on the driveway. I was in a rush
and it was twilight ... and ... and ... OK, I admit
it, I messed up. But truly, I didn't mean to trace
those trails of pale blue paint from that lovely large
wet arrow on the tarmac. I'd never have messed up
the driveway for the world ... well, but for the haste
to get where I'd promised to be on time, and so I left
an accidental trail of paint behind snaking across
the black top in my unthinking rush not
to disappoint my friends. Sometimes
one simply can't win for trying.

[non-dream free verse poem written 9-19-17. I saw the paint trails and this was the story that my imagination told me. Photomorph "Snaking Through the Night" (9-17-17 025v2)]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
