TEMPTING DIVE (photo) & NUMINOUS (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila
NUMINOUS
a long row of raindrops clings
to the edge of the poolside railing
after the storm: I touch them all
in turn with the tip of a forefinger
and just before each tiny tear
falls free, the clearing sky
briefly fills it with a dollop
of numinous blue
[non-dream free verse poem written 9-5-17. I had not thought of it this way when I first decided to post this poem today, but it makes a suiting belated acknowledgment of yesterday, which would have been my younger brother's 69th birthday. Though we'd been estranged for many years when he died in 2013, I miss simply knowing Russ was on the same planet with me. Photo "Tempting Dive" (9-17-17 009v2) by Roswila; the far end of the railing off to the left is where I was touching raindrops; you can just make out the chair I was sitting in.]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
