DROPLET (photomorph by Roswila) & "don't mope and moan..." (haiku by Issa)

don't mope and moan!
tomorrow brings
tomorrow's dewdrops

[haiku written 1814 by Haiku Master Issa. My thanks to David Gerard of Daily Issa for this haiku and the below versions of it in kanji (Japanese ideogram form), and then in romanji (phonetic, western alphabet):

くよくよとさわぐな翌は翌の露
kuyo-kuyo to sawagu na asu wa asu no tsuyu

I love this haiku. It works on two very different levels at once. And together they address the impermanence of everything. (Which I most certainly hope applies to the advent of carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome in my hands! I.e., carpal on the right, and cubital on the left. Argh!) This haiku can also be read to vaguely echo that bible quote about tomorrow's troubles being sufficient thereto. Photomorph "Droplet" (5-2-16 untitled) by Roswila]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

* * * *
until next time, keep dreaming,
