MAY GRAY IN MARCH (photo) & NOTHINGNESS (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila
NOTHINGNESS
no horizon on the sea today, just
a vast pillowing emptiness; one might
think that the possibility of sailing off into
nothingness would be more than welcome
after month upon month of sharp edges
delineating here from the yearned for but
unreachable; and yet sadness sinks any
brief relief at the sight of nothing, rolling
its wreck over and over on the busy
tongue of thought like the surf at high
tide with nowhere left to go: is this
distant nothingness anymore
attainable than the sky
beyond a horizon line?
[non-dream free verse poem written 3-14-17. Photo "May Gray in March" (3-14-17 017v2) by Roswila; May & June are famously foggy here on the CA Central Coast, but this was just taken a few days ago, and the poem was written that same day.]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
