WAITING FOR WHALES (photo) & HE'S GOT HER BACK (mixed format dream poem) by Roswila

HE'S GOT HER BACK

a couple of folk
try to brush off the negative
energies that keep
returning to cling to her back
as she wanders the large room

he touches her back
next, and explains it's not to
dispel negative
energy, but to give her
a bit of positivity

she turns her head towards him, listening closely
as he tells her of the source of the positive energy

"It seems," he says, "I'm connected to millennia old,
non-human life forms: deep sea creatures,

mostly gargantuan whales that dwarf any now living,
who tumble through the past bearing their gift for the future"

they stand quietly as his hand warms her back
and he whispers "Can you hear them singing?"

At 1:31 am this morning I turned 73 years old (yikes!) and am still waiting for those whales, as I have been all my life ... sorry, it's been a very blue few months so my birthday's not really any better.]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
