first, zebra faces
pass by like photos in an
ancient slide show
one after the other, each with
rapidly changing expressions

then come monkeys
their parade vertical and
ever more varied,
each of their expressions
changing in the wink of an eye

why all these lightning quick views
of the faces behind the faces
