STAVING OFF THE DAY (photomorph) & PILLOW SONG (mixed format dream-inspired poem) by Roswila
PILLOW SONG
the morning calls
vaguely through her curtains
again and again,
but Morpheus sings like a siren
and she falls back into his arms
he inveigles her
to stay a while with strange vistas:
doors opening inside the sea
deaths reversing themselves
card games grousing like people
knowing the day can’t possibly match up
she yields each time to the song of her pillow
[two tanka and a two-liner on a night’s dreaming and the morning’s oversleeping, written and posted 11-23-12, slightly revised, and re-posted 7-17-18. Photomorph "Staving Off the Day" (7-23-09 4117ev4) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
