OPENING (photomorph) & BROKEN HEARTED (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila

BROKEN HEARTED

my heart may be broken
but my arms still do their work,
my spirit may be crushed
but my legs still carry on,
my mind may be scattered
like bits of sheep's wool
on a barbed wire fence, but

I still can see, still breathe,
still taste and touch and hear,
yes, these arms can still reach out,
and these hands can still open
to receive the gifts that spring
from this unfathomable world
like sudden flowers

[non-dream poem written 7-9-16. This is the poem I wrote before I had the dream I posted about yesterday, and mentioned in that dream poem's comment. Photomorph "Opening" (6-28-16 001v6) by Roswila]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
