DIRECTING THE DANCE (photomorph) & HOLE IN THE SKY REDUX (free verse dream poem) by Roswila

HOLE IN THE SKY REDUX

her dreams creep along
tiptoeing past the full moon,
flickering, not fully formed,
a series of frames in an ancient
silent movie in need of restoration:
here a computer screen page
at which she works assiduously
is it a poem, is it graphic art,
or maybe neither, but simply more
electronic flotsam, more
filler for that hole in the sky?
and there a woman returns
to her side, proclaiming
how ecstatic it had been
to dance once more, to be
fully expressive, but
how expressive can it be
to perform someone's else's
choreography? and no matter
the number of personal gestures
the woman claims to have snuck in,
the full moon swallowed
them all anyway,
along with that predictable dance

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
