CAMOUFLAGE (photomorph) & APPEARANCES (mixed format dream poem) by Roswila

APPEARANCES

the field's asprout with
neat rows of number sevens
all deeply rooted
yet a good tug on any one seven
and it comes right out of the earth

ah, now I remember, in the Tarot deck
a seven may mean "appearances deceive"

[tanka and two-liner on a dream of 7-19-15. I did a lengthy post a while back on the Seven of Pentacles in the Tarot to one of my Tarot blogs. And among many meanings was the above idea of deceptive appearances. This dream, however, goes past that to the idea that all the sevens in the deck may carry this meaning as a possibility. Something to think on and watch for in readings that I do for myself. But the heart of this little dream is its "message" to me personally. I've been living with some painfully entrenched understandings for a long time. Maybe they, too, are deceptive. Photomorph "Camouflage" (5-1-13 12644ev4) by Roswila]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
